Pedestrianised Areas and Town Squares

Island Roads is responsible for administering the bookings and issuing permits for St James' and St Thomas' Squares in Newport and Somerfield Square in Ryde.

How do I get a permit?

To apply for a permit, complete an application form by clicking here.

How long does it take to get a permit?

When your application form has been received and the details have been approved a permit will be posted. Should you still have not received a permit within 3 days of your event please contact the Island Roads help desk on 01983 822440.

Is there are charge for booking these Squares?

There is a charge of £55.75 per day, per square, for any non-charitable organisations. Charitable organisations can book the squares, free of charge, but must provide their registered charity number.
