Youth and citizenship


The grant will allow YMCA to support individuals or groups of young people aged 19‐25 to participate in a project called YMCA: Futures, which will run from June – December 2015.

The project will provide young people with the opportunity and encouragement to realise their true potential, become entrepreneurs and make a real difference to their community.

Teams or individuals would compete to receive £1,000 funding for their idea and the successful person or group would be mentored by vetted businesses’ to turn their money into profit that will benefit local charities where 50% of profits would go to local charities and the other 50% returned to the YMCA to fund future projects.

The project will help improve participant’s skills which directly contribute to their employability, self confidence and creativity.
